Born in the city of Santo Domingo on October 13, 1862. In 1892 he graduated as Bachelor of Pharmacy, profession which he served until the time of his death in 1958. He was a painter, musician and violinist. He was self taught in painting. The central subject of his paintings are the numerous corners of the city that accompanied his afternoon of solitude.

We found in his paintings fragments of history that allow us to glimpse the city of Santo Domingo in the 1930s and 1940s. Is the second theme of his work, no less important than the first, the collection dedicated to still life. In this works we find countless still lifes.

His still life of fruits and flowers and their portraits of Cayetano Rodríguez and other important national figures show that his artistic output never decreased. Nature with marked details was one of his favorite subjects.

The brief pictorial work of Abelardo Piñeyro is inserted into realism and the national thematic. It was a painting that did not materialize significantly, but has historical value and spontaneous energy and interest that the artist put into the design and shape of his works.

This means, that the language does not have the dynamism observed in the majority of the works of his predecessors such as Abelardo Rodríguez Urdaneta, Luis Desangles and Enrique Garcia Godoy.

It held more than twenty solo exhibitions and participated in several group shows. He is among the exhibitors of the great exhibition of the Artistic Salon in 1890, and participated in the exhibition held in 1941 by the Ateneo Dominicano of Santo Domingo and the three first National Biennial of Plastic Arts held in the Dominican Republic.

Nació en la ciudad de Santo Domingo el 13 de octubre de 1862. En 1892 se graduó como Licenciado en Farmacia, profesión que ejerció hasta el momento de su muerte en 1958. Fue un pintor, músico y violinista. Fue autodidacta en la pintura.

El tema central de sus pinturas son los numerosos rincones de la ciudad que acompañaron sus tardes de soledad. Encontramos en sus pinturas fragmentos de historia que nos permiten vislumbrar la ciudad de Santo Domingo de los años 1930 y 1940.

El segundo tema de su trabajo, no menos importante que el primero, es al colección dedicada a la naturaleza muerta. Aquí nos encontramos innumerables bodegones. Su bodegón de frutas y flores, y sus retratos de Cayetano Rodríguez y de otras figuras nacionales importantes muestran que su producción artística no disminuyó. La naturaleza con detalles marcados era uno de sus temas favoritos.

La pictórica de Abelardo Piñeyro se inserta en el realismo y la temática nacional. Era una pintura que no se materializó de manera significativa, pero tiene valor histórico, energía espontánea y el interés que el artista puso en el diseño y la forma de sus obras.

Lo que significa, que el lenguaje no tiene el dinamismo observado en la mayoría de las obras de sus predecesores como Abelardo Rodríguez Urdaneta, Luis Desangles y Enrique García Godoy.

Llevó a cabo más de veinte exposiciones individuales y participó en varias exposiciones colectivas. Es uno de los expositores de la gran exposición del Salón Artístico en 1890, y participó en la exposición celebrada en 1941 por el Ateneo Dominicano de Santo Domingo y las tres primeras Bienales Nacionales de Artes Plásticas de la República Dominicana.
